Delight
 
I press cool copper-colored keys, lean in to harmonies,
blend into music that envelops me – floats me – no gravity here.
We slide into flat discordance then rise in rainbows: flutes
sparkle silver, trumpets blare red, drums roll, punctuate in black.
 
Pleasure crawls down my spine as I merge with this voice,
no longer trapped in my body but instead part of something larger:
we are green currents following the moon, we are gulls crying out,
we are shafts of light piercing clouds, opening faces, brightening hearts.
